Il ne fut pas aisé de trouver un thème pour cette oeuvre, les commanditaires souhaitant un lien thématique avec leur région, ce qui est bien normal.
Je dois aussi avouer que c'est bien la première fois que j'obtiens tant d'informations - précises - de la part des commanditaires...
Ainsi, son directeur musical, Eric Parra, m'a envoyé quelques livres sur la région, le Faucigny, la Haute-Savoie,... J'ai donc été touché par le livre ci-dessus, "Contes et Légendes de Savoie", de Monique de Huertas, qui reprend les histoires contées dans les familles de Savoie depuis plusieurs générations, et en ai repris le titre du même coup...!
L'oeuvre se divise donc en plusieurs parties :
Un 5e mouvement sera ajouté bientôt... avant la publication par De Haske, et l'enregistrement par la Musique des Gardiens de la Paix de Paris en fin d'année.- La Fée Myrtille et le Chamois
- Le Bâton Magique
- La Dame du Val de Fier
- La Légende de Duvallon
Le travail pour préparer la création s'est déroulé avec l'Orchestre d'Harmonie du stage fédéral annuel (c'était le 20e stage cette année), qui a eu lieu du 14 au 19 avril 2008, à Saint-Martin sur Arve, près de Sallanches...

It was not easy to find a theme for this work, but the commissioning musical director, Eric Parra, sent me some books on his region, the Faucigny, Haut-Savoie, etc.
So, I was very inspired by that book (above) which gathers some stories and tales that have been told in that region, for generations...
The movements describe each the story of the "Blueberry fairy and the chamois", the "Magic stick", the "Lady from Val de Fier" and the "Legend of Duvallon"... I'll add a 5th movement soon, before the publication by De Haske, and its recording by the Musique des Gardiens de la Paix de Paris...
