J'ai la chance de pouvoir intégrer la classe de direction d'orchestre de Jean-Sébastien Béreau depuis octobre 2005.
Chef d'exception, il obtint des Premiers Prix au Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris en direction d'orchestre et percussions notamment. Il eut ainsi parmi ses maîtres : Leonard Bernstein, Darius Milhaud, Olivier Messiaen,...
Très jeune, il se voit confié la direction du Conservatoire et l'Orchestre de Metz ; rapidement il sera appelé par Marcel Landowski au poste d'Inspecteur Principal de la Musique au Ministère de la Culture.
Plus tard, c'est le Conservatoire de Strasbourg qui l'accueille à sa tête ; puis, il sera nommé à la tête des classes d'orchestre et de direction d'orchestre au Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris.
Ne pouvant s'acquitter du plaisir d'enseigner l'art de la direction d'orchestre, il fera des master-classes au Conservatoire de Dijon, et depuis quelques années à Lille, là où je vais actuellement.
Nombres chefs, musiciens, solistes, compositeurs, ont suivi les cours de cet homme extraordinaire...
